Can Scott recommend an exercise or drill to help a shooter who lifts his head to see where the shot went before the bullet leaves the barrel?

Hi Jerry,
Many firearms schools don't teach follow through in their courses and students develop bad habits from the start. We see this a great deal. That is one of the reasons that we ask people who are starting out with us to take a basic class even though they may have had previous training.
They are no "exercises" per say to break this bad habit other than concentrating on your front sight and talking yourself through the trigger press. We make our students hold their sights on their targets counting 1001, 1002, etc. to break the habit. The point is to watch your front sight through out the trigger press and to re-acquire the sight picture as soon as you press your shot. There is no magic about this..it takes a great deal of concentration and re-training. People who attend our classes will be constantly reminded to use follow through until they get it. Most students eventually do!
